2025 District Conference
Saturday, June 14, 2025
9:00 AM – 12:30 PM (Lunch following)
Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church
8445 Greiner Road, Williamsville, NY 14221
Whether this is your first time serving as a delegate to district conference or you have served for many years, welcome! The Wesleyan Church has 22 Districts in the North American Conference. Every district holds an annual conference when all the ministers and elected lay delegates from the churches gather to choose leaders, cast vision, hear from denominational leaders, find out about parachurch ministries, celebrate baptisms, worship, and pray for each other. It is a long-standing principle in the Wesleyan tradition to have an equal representation of clergy and lay members of the conference. The number of delegates allotted from your church is determined by the number of church members. The total number of lay delegates is designed to equal the number of voting clergy members so that there is parity in those numbers.
In the Western New York District, we always begin the day in worship including The Lord’s Supper. District Conference is a time to recognize that we are part of something larger than just our local context. We are part of a district, a denomination, and the church universal.
The conference is at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, 8445 Greiner Road, Williamsville, NY 14221.
The business meeting will be in the Multiplex Room (Room 9 on this map). You may enter through any main entrance, but doors 7 and 13 are closest to the meeting room. You will be seated at tables together with all your church’s delegates. Look for a sign with your church’s name. Your conference packet will be at your seat.

It is a long-standing Wesleyan Methodist tradition to have parity between lay and clergy representation at District Conference. To keep this parity consistent, each year the District Board of Administration assigns a number of delegates for each church according to its members and to stay parallel to the number of ministers attending district conference. The chart below lists the lay delegate apportionment for 2026.

Hallie Harrington
Hallie grew up near Allentown, PA as the youngest of ten children. From the moment she was born, Hallie’s family was telling her about Jesus. Her parents’ strong faith made it almost impossible for Hallie to say no to God’s invitation into life. Though they never forced her to believe, their love for Christ convinced her that His way of living was better than anything else. She accepted Christ at a young age, but her faith didn’t become real until middle school. That was when she attended youth camp and heard the Holy Spirit for the first time. Through watching other teens experience the love of Christ and worship him wholeheartedly, God showed Hallie that there was more to Christianity than just believing; there is actual surrender and transformation involved. God called Hallie into ministry at the end of that week, and she said yes. Thanks to the support of her youth pastors, Hallie grew in confidence and assurance of her calling. Hallie studied youth and pastoral ministry at Indiana Wesleyan, where God further confirmed her gifts and encouraged her through her youth group students, classmates, and professors. She now serves as the associate pastor at North Collins Wesleyan, working mainly with the teens and children. She enjoys the challenge of simplifying theology into terms kids will understand while still making sure they still receive a filling ‘meal’. Since saying yes to God’s calling, Hallie has fallen more in love with Scripture and with the person of Jesus every day. She is so excited to see what God has in store for her future.
Andrew Walton
Andrew is originally from Emmaus, PA, but has also lived in Massachusetts and New York. He grew up in a Christian household where the foundations of faith were laid early, but it was during his time at Houghton College that he first sensed a distinct calling to a life of teaching the Bible. There, he not only fell in love with Scripture, but also discovered a deep and enduring desire to help others see the grand story of the Bible and to recognize that they are called to be a part of it. That calling was further affirmed and refined during his theological training at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master’s degree, and at Harvard University, where he completed a PhD in Hebrew Bible. While pursuing his doctoral studies, Andrew served as a youth pastor for twelve years and as an interim pastor for one year. These pastoral experiences were not separate from his academic journey but integrally woven into it—convincing him that rigorous study of Scripture and faithful service in the local church belong together. His ordination transfer is both a recognition of this lifelong calling and a step forward in continuing to serve the Church through the teaching and proclamation of God’s Word. Andrew now serves as Professor of Bible at Houghton University, where he lives out that calling by teaching Scripture and cultivating a deep love for it in his students.New Licensed Ministers

REPORTS
District Superintendent Report
Assistant District Superintendent Report
It has been my pleasure to serve as the Assistant District Superintendent this past year. WNY District has great pastors and lay people who are passionate about the Church and who take seriously their responsibility to ensure their local church is fulfilling the mission of making disciples and expanding God’s Kingdom. I was blessed to have a front row seat with our district churches as I filled in for Dr. Jennings as he was on sabbatical. The culture of the WNY District is life-giving and exciting to be a part of. I need to give a special thank-you to Charissa, our new Admin Assistant in the office who made my responsibilities much easier. I look forward to serving you again this coming year. My responsibilities this year included the following:
- Leading the DBMD
- Leading the January LDJ Meeting
- Leading the March DBA Meeting
- Supporting Silver Creek in the search for a new pastor
- Covering DS responsibilities during Dr. Jennings’ sabbatical
- Working with churches regarding building concerns
- Serving on the DBA
- Providing counsel and care to pastors
- Assisting the DS as requested
Respectfully submitted,
Dan Jones
District Children's Ministry Directors' Report
WNY Wesleyan District Children’s Ministry Report
“Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.”
— Dr. John Trainer
While this past year may have looked quieter on the surface, our commitment to connection, encouragement, and equipping within the WNY Wesleyan District Children’s Ministry community has remained steady and intentional.
Ongoing Connection & Communication
Throughout the year, we’ve continued to engage with children’s ministry leaders across our district through our dedicated Facebook page, “WNY Wesleyan Kidmin”. This online space has served as a valuable hub for encouragement, resource sharing, and staying informed. Even when in-person events have been limited, our Facebook community has remained a simple but effective way to keep ministry leaders connected.
Refresh Round Table
One of the highlights of the year was our Children’s Ministry Round Table at Refresh Camp. This in-person opportunity provided leaders a chance to share ideas, ask questions, and support one another in ministry. These moments of collaboration are always rich in encouragement and practical takeaways.
Support Through the Year
We’ve also had the privilege of coming alongside several leaders throughout the year by fielding ministry-related questions and offering insight, prayer, and support. It’s been our joy to serve as a resource and a sounding board as challenges and opportunities have arisen in local church contexts.
Looking Ahead
Looking forward, we’re excited to share that we are in the early stages of organizing a Children’s Ministry Leader Huddle this fall. We will meet at The Vine Wesleyan Church on Saturday, November 1, 9:30 a.m. This will be a time to gather, grow, and be refreshed together in community. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
We’re grateful to walk alongside our District Children’s Ministry leaders in ministry.
Blessings,

District Missions Director Report
This has been another great year as your district missions director/District Director of Global Partners. Our district continues to be represented globally by 3 incredible sets of Global Partners missionaries: Stacia in Eastern Europe, the George family in Australia, and the Austin’s, in Rochester NY. They are all on the front lines of ministry and recruiting new missionaries to share the Gospel with the unreached.
Here in WNY I’ve had the privilege of assembling and leading our first district mission team in some years. We are excited to partner with Stacia in Eastern Europe this summer by teaching an ESL day camp for middle schoolers. The team has worked hard to fundraise, prepare curriculum, and to prepare our hearts to serve. Our team is: Terri Niver and Crystal Bisker from Bradford, Tracy Butler from Eastern Hills, Hope Gallagher from Fellowship, Bjorn Webb, Greg Niver, and myself from Revive. This has been an amazing group to work with and lead. I am already excited to share with you upon our return how we saw God move.
As a personal note, I continue my work as a regional mobilizer with Global Partners and my husband continues his as an engineer. We will celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary this year and are excited to welcome a second child into our family this fall.

Refresh Directors' Report
As we prepare for our 11th year of directing Refresh this Summer, it is good to take a moment to reflect on last Summer’s camp. Actually, ‘camp’ is not quite the right word. We are blessed to be able to hold this special week in the life of the district at Houghton University and, through the coordination efforts of Becca Crouch, we are given excellent accommodations and use of the facilities.
In 2024, we were blessed by the preaching ministry of Pastor Daniel LeRoy and the musical ministry of Chris Stephens. We want to thank our entire team for their faithfulness in serving and helping to create a great week. Our goal is to maintain and grow Refresh so it can be a financially sustainable ministry and continue to be a spiritually beneficial one going forward in the life of the district.
Our dates this year are July 20 through July 25. We are excited to welcome a married couple, Branden and Jenn Petersen, as our evening rally speakers. They are the co-founders of Resurrection Life NYC church in Manhattan. Jenn also serves as President & CEO of World Hope International while Branden serves as founder and executive director of Global Cities Network. Shawn King will have a team ready to lead us into worship. We look forward to a wonderful week full of faith, family, food, fun, and fellowship! If you have not yet registered for Refresh, please do so ASAP by visiting refreshathoughton.com

Cable Carr
Action Committee - Clergy, General Conference Delegate - Clergy
Caleb “Cable” J. Carr grew up in the Corning, New York area, attending Victory Highway Wesleyan Church. Through the ministries at Victory, Cable came to know Jesus as his savior. During summer camp in 2009, the Lord called him to ministry. After graduating high school, Cable went to Indiana Wesleyan and entered the Kern Program. He finished his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries in 2017, and completed a Master’s of Practical Theology in 2019. In October of 2018, Cable married his high school sweetheart, Allison. The couple both served on staff at Bethany Wesleyan Church from 2018-2020. In 2020, Cable joined the staff at Revive Wesleyan, and currently serves as the Multi-site Youth Pastor. Cable enjoys running, soccer, coffee, tea, traveling, and Star Wars.

Keith Clark
Action Committee- Clergy
Keith Clark grew up in Springville, NY, the village in which he pastors Revive Wesleyan’s Springville Crossing Campus today. Keith accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in High School. However, Jesus didn’t become his Lord until his mid-twenties. This happened through a series of challenging situations. It was during this season that Keith’s admittance and reliance on the Lord seemed to be all that he had but it proved to be more than enough. The journey that the Lord was leading Keith on and his ever-growing faith eventually led him to be part of a small group (7) who planted the non-denominational Springville Crossing Church in 2007. Just over two years into the plant the founding/lead pastor left, and Keith sensed the calling from the Lord to leave corporate America (Fisher-Price/Mattel) and begin pastoring the church. This was in late 2009. It was at this time that Keith began the appropriate schooling and was licensed to do ministry through The Chapel at Crosspoint. Since that time Keith has led the congregation in Springville through many changing seasons successfully and gracefully. Perhaps the biggest change was the dissolution of the Springville Crossing Church to relaunch as a campus of Revive Wesleyan. That occurred in 2019. Since that time Keith has worked to receive his licensing as a Wesleyan and is continuing to work toward his Ordination. Keith has been married to his wife, Laura, for 27 years and they have two adult children. Keith enjoys the outdoors and loves serving in the community of Springville in many ways as a vessel of God’s hope, healing, and grace.

Kim brings 30+ years of ministry experience and a passion for the creative worship arts to her desire to equip the church for ministry.

Hallie Harrington
Action Committee- Clergy
Hallie grew up near Allentown, PA as the youngest of ten children. Her family has always modeled a strong faith life, so she accepted Christ at a young age. However, her faith didn’t become real until middle school. God called Hallie into ministry at the end of her first week at youth camp, and she said yes.

Dan grew up on a dairy farm and came to Christ as a child at the small rural church where he grew up, met his wife Karen and served as an assistant pastor. After sensing God’s call to pastoral ministry Dan left the farm to attend Houghton College and then earned an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. During his seminary training Dan pastored a small suburban Wesleyan Church in the midst of transition helping them regain established church status. Dan is passionate about helping churches reach their communities with the Gospel. His passion for worship has also grown through his leadership of Manifest Worship, a collective that brings live worship experiences to churches throughout the WNY region.

Jordan Kizewski
DBA - Clergy
Jordan Kizewski met Jesus in his early twenties, and as Jesus tends to do, He changed everything. The different passions, hobbies, and gifts that led Jordan through three different college majors (from art education, to theater, to eventually just a liberal arts degree in order to be accepted into the police academy) became the gifts that God sharpened to use for ministry. With a heart for service, people, all things creative, and a genuine enjoyment of speaking in front of people, the many quirks that made up Jordan’s life were given sense and meaning.
Today, along with his wife Claire, he strives to continue to grow into each of these gifts while sharing them with God’s people, while equipping God’s people to use their own unique gifts to cultivate his Kingdom here on this earth. Beyond that, Jordan loves coffee, Milwaukee Bucks Basketball, and being from Wisconsin, cheese in any form!

Gary Mattison
DBA - Lay
Gary has spent his life in the Wellsville NY area. Met his wife Nancy in High School and this July they will be celebrating 54 years of marriage. They have 3 Children and 10 grandchildren. In 2016 Gary and his then 15 year old granddaughter Megan were having a conversation about what was going on in her church. During this discussion, Megan stated that her father was concerned as to whether Gary was really saved or not. Gary assured her he was and explained to her all the reasons why he considered himself saved. Megan then said she had one more question. “Grandpa do you love Jesus?” After some thought Gary told her he would have to get back to her on that, and he asked her to give him a year. Gary said that the next Sunday, he and Nancy attended the Brookside Wesleyan Church and have never left.

Conner Mullett has served in vocational ministry since 2014, with experience in Indiana, New Jersey, and now at Anchor Church in Buffalo, NY, where he and his family followed the Spirit’s prompting in 2021. His life and leadership are marked by a deep hunger for God’s presence and a desire to see that hunger awakened in others. At Anchor Church, Conner serves in worship, discipleship, and spiritual leadership. With over 14 years of worship leading experience, he is passionate about discipling worship leaders to be humble, hungry, and present—forming not just skilled musicians, but people shaped by intimacy with Jesus. In the past, he has served in the development of a worship school centered on spiritual formation and led regular huddles focused on character, competency, and mission. Conner has also served within the international 3DM discipleship movement, helping to form missional communities and equip others to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Above all, Conner longs to see revival—a movement of people fully alive to God’s voice, presence, and purpose. As a General Conference Delegate, he would be honored to represent the WNY District and is committed to prayerful discernment, Spirit-led leadership, and the continued growth of a disciple-making church. Conner and his wife Kristen, his high school sweetheart, have been married since 2018. They live in Buffalo with their almost two-year-old son, Elliott. Outside of ministry, Conner enjoys watching sports, coffee snobbery, and an ongoing quest to find the greatest chicken wing in existence.

Articles of Religion Video Series
I love learning more about what we believe as The Wesleyan Church (TWC) and that’s why I’m especially enthusiastic about the Articles of Religion (AoR) series. I’m privileged to join an amazing group of contributors who will cover all our essential doctrinal statements, each highlighted in a brief, accurate and accessible article and video. Understanding more fully what we believe benefits us individually as we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Increasing clarity in how we conceptualize our common beliefs also has the collective benefit of uniting us in our Christian faith.
– Wayne Schmidt, General Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church
