Job Description

**Please note, this is a Temporary, Full-time hours (40 hours/week) posting. The position of Chaplain at Buffalo City Mission is to uphold the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and Values of the Buffalo City Mission.  The position of the Chaplain will help oversee all Christian activities including, Bible studies, Chapel Services and spiritual guidance for those in need.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday – 8:30pm – 4:30pm (weekend availability for special events as needed)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment intake interviews with the intent of identifying spiritual needs and referrals.
  • Assist clients in establishing goals with regard to their spiritual journey programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and good organization of forms and files.
  • Organize worship services in creative and spiritual ways.
  • Facilitate spiritual classes.
  • Interview chapel speakers for an evaluation of where they stand spiritually in regards to BCM’s statement of faith and core values.
  • Carry out the goals of the pastoral care department.
  • Offer religious and spiritual guidance to residents/clients, staff, and administrators.
  • Participate in committee resident/client conferences to enhance the continuity of care
    for residents.
  • Participate in additional BCM activities as needed.

Successful candidates should have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Studies or equivalent experience in Ministry. Ordination preferred.
  • Minimum of one year pastoral experience.
  • Certification by an appropriate clinical pastoral agency, Ordination Preferred.
  • Requires flexibility in work hours, programs and services.
  • Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and initiatives.
  • Basic computer and written communication skills.
  • A mature walk with Jesus Christ and be able to articulate belief.

Job Description

This full-time position is responsible for clerical duties of the logistics department and assisting the Manager-Receiving as needed.

Work Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week.  Schedule will include every Saturday.

Key responsibilities

  • Phone operator liaison handling and scheduling donation pick-up appointments and community events.
  • Creates drivers’ schedules based on donation pickup appointments scheduled.
  • Receive carrier deliveries and inform recipient to come pick-up packages for the appropriate department(s).
  • Responsible for and oversee referral program, prepare and monitor monthly reports.
  • Responsible for documenting all receivables that come into receiving department .
  • Responsible for filing documentation: all receiving items, Mileage logs, gas receipts, food bank donations, etc.
  • Create and monitors excel spreadsheet for monthly donor pickups, salvage and gas reporting.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft office.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds above waist level.

Successful candidates should have

  • High School education or GED equivalency.
  • Minimum of 2 – 5 years of relevant work experience in customer service and logistics environment.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette with the ability to resolve donors concerns and complaints quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective interaction and personal skills.
  • Proven ability to think independently and multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment with diplomacy.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.

PATH Volunteer Opportunities

PATH Enrichment Center (People Against Trafficking Humans) is seeking to engage the church community with volunteer opportunities. Our areas of need are transportation to and from the center, dinners we serve daily, reception and child programs. We welcome one-time events for small groups, individuals and always hoping for long-term volunteers. There is an application and orientation process due to the level of trauma of those we serve.
