August 6-12, 2016
On Saturday, Aug 6th a group from the WNY District of the Wesleyan Church will leave for Winston-Salem, North Carolina to partner with Christ Wesleyan Church and their student ministry to allow middle school & high school age students a mission trip experience on a cost effective level. This trip will be a seven day journey that includes a sports camp outreach event to a community in which the Christ Wesleyan family have been ministering, as well as serving multiple other city ministries such as: a Sole Hope http://solehopeparty.org shoe making party, community projects, the rescue mission, local food pantries and food kitchens. They will also have a day just for the group to have fun. We are planning on taking the group to the US National Whitewater Center http://usnwc.org. This is a great opportunity to encourage students to leave their comfort zones for the sake of the Gospel.
All who are interested in going will need to fill out the WNY District Domestic Mission Trip Application. We will only be able to take 20 students on this trip, so please get your applications in as soon as possible. The application deadline is March 1, 2016 (midnight) and a deposit of $100 will be required before the first meeting date (April 10th) if you are an accepted missionary. After the March 1st deadline, a committee will select the team members and contact the students within two weeks. The cost of the trip will be $400 per student. There will be five adult leaders from the WNY district, as well as several other adults from the partnering church in NC. Please contact Monty Ader firstname.lastname@example.org or 336-354-9387 ext. 306 with any questions.
