The 2012 Northeast Regional Conference for COPE (Coalition of Prison Evangelists) will be held at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church June 6-8, 2012. Dave Umfreville, area director for Prison Fellowship has offered the district a special rate for this conference. If we register 10 people, the registration fee will be $50 (as opposed to the regular rate of $100). This is an excellent way to enhance your knowledge of ministry to inmates and their families. Church onWordPress is offering churches and ministries the opportunity have a custom designed website, built on a great content management system called WordPress. They are a Christian organization looking to serve the Lord with their gifts. There is not initial cost for the website up front as normally would be the case, they are offering websites for $50/mo. This includes the custom design, development, all of you content set up, support, hosting and email.

Hess Road Christmas Outreach

“The Sounds Of Christmas” at Hess Road Wesleyan Church is in its 8th year, a very unique concert to a church. Musician friends from Buffalo area, a mix of Christmas favorites both sacred and secular in many music styles, country, jazz, blues, rock-n-roll. They had between 700-800 in attendance over the two nights, at least 40% unchurched! Pastors Joe Payne, Dan Wilson and Rich Nightingale joined efforts to produce this fun and effective outreach. There was also a performance at East Aurora Wesleyan Church on December 11.

The area wide Wesleyan Youth Convention was held at the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg in October. The District Prayer event “40 Days of United Prayer” concluded just as the Follow tour was beginning. As a part of the 40 Days, the district created a paper chain representing the hours of prayer offered up during that time. At the conclusion of the youth convention, the youth who responded to the call to Follow Jesus with their lives were given the opportunity to take one of the links from the chain as a remembrance of the commitment they had made as well as a reminder of the prayer that was offered up on their behalf.
