National Church Multiplication Sunday

On Pentecost Sunday (June 4th, 2017), every Wesleyan church is invited to engage in National Church Multiplication Sunday! On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit united a body of believers to go out and multiply disciples. Today, we continue to engage in God’s movement through the Church.

  • Renewed Prayer for harvest
  • Be broken for those who are disconnected from Christ and the Church
  • Cultivate a vision for church multiplication
  • Develop support toward the development of new churches
  • Sense responsibility for supporting new churches

 All donations will stay in Western New York for church planting efforts!

2017 Annual Reports

For the overseer must be above reproach as God’s steward – Titus 1:7

Annual Reporting by ministers is an important aspect of  your accountability as a minister of the Gospel. Thank you for your cooperation in completing these reports by the deadline.

These two steps are due May 5, 2017

1. Register for District Conference/Request to be Excused

  • The WNY District Annual District Conference is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church. This is the one time a year our entire district leadership gathers as a body. It is also an important time to connect with the Wesleyan Movement on a broader level.  This is the reason that attendance for Ordained, Commissioned, Licensed Ministers and Ministerial Students serving as Supply Pastors is mandatory unless a request to be excused is submitted in advance.  REGISTER HERE
  • If you are requesting to be excused from conference, you will need to send notification to the district superintendent OFFICE@WNYDISTRICT.COM  The District Board will review requests to be excused.

 2. Submit Your Annual Service Report

  • Log in to your Wesleyan Portal account
    • Pastors:
    • Ministerial Students:
    • IMPORTANT: If you cannot remember your password, click the “Lost Password” link. DO NOT create a new account unless you have never logged in to the Portal before. The site will be open from March 31 to May 5, 2017.  Your username was sent to you in an email, so check your inbox if you cannot remember your username.
  • Click on the link that looks like this:
  • Pastor Portal ASR Link
  • Verify and update your contact information.
  • This form will need to be filled out in one sitting as there is not a way to save and return later. It should only take you a few minutes.
  • You are encouraged to take care of this before the deadline in case you have any technical issues with the online system.

Senior Pastor, Wesleyan Church of Orchard Park

Senior Pastor – The Wesleyan Church of Orchard Park
The Wesleyan Church of Orchard Park (OPWC) is prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor who will lead the church as we strive to be a light to the community and to grow in spiritual maturity.  OPWC is an established, welcoming community with an average worship attendance of 250 people, and that seeks to reach and serve all ages.  This is a healthy, spiritually mature congregation which has had only four lead pastors since 1950.  We are dedicated to the mission field, both locally and abroad and desire to increase our passion for Jesus.  We are praying for the person God has chosen to lead us in this pursuit.

Orchard Park is a community of 30,000 located about 20 minutes southeast of Buffalo, NY, so we are on the line between suburban and rural.  We get over 100 inches of snow annually, enjoying both awesome winters and green, sunny summers.

We believe that our Pastor will:

  • Be a spirit-led lover of Jesus who fervently desires to share that love;
  • Have a passion for reaching the community, including those in their twenties and early thirties;
  • Engage in strong Bible-based, dynamic preaching, and be willing to deliver difficult messages;
  • Have a shepherd’s heart and be dedicated to ministering to those within our own church body through expanding small group opportunities, listening to the congregation, and visitation to those in need;
  • Demonstrate strategic leadership, excellent communication skills, the ability to delegate well, and a desire to equip the lay leadership.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree, and either be ordained in The Wesleyan Church, or willing to transfer your ordination to embrace The Wesleyan Church. We are seeking a leader who has Lead Pastor experience or experience in a multi-staff setting.

If you feel that God may be calling you to serve as our next leader, please contact our District Superintendent, Dr. Joseph Jennings at

The application deadline is March 1, 2016 (midnight) and a deposit of $100 will be required before the first meeting date (April 10th) if you are an accepted missionary.  After the March 1st deadline, a committee will select the team members and contact the students within two weeks.  The cost of the trip will be $400 per student.  There will be five adult leaders from the WNY district, as well as several other adults from the partnering church in NC.  Please contact Monty Ader or 336-354-9387 ext. 306 with any questions.

Kids and parents are chosen to come on stage from both teams where they compete in quirky games and challenges that become an action, object lesson pointing to Bible principles. The George Family

Chris and Melissa George, GP Missionaries to Australia are back in the United States until the end of March 2015. Here is a message from the Georges:

We are so excited to be back in our home districts (CNY and WNY) for partnership development. During our time here we would love to connect with you, your missions committee and your church to share what God has been doing in Western Australia.  God has done so many wonderful, amazing, and great things in people’s lives over the past 10 years.  We will be stateside until April 1st, 2015 raising support and prayer partners.

Our goal is to be 100% funded by March 2015 so we can return to Western Australia for another 5 year term to answer the call God has placed on our family.  God has called us to:

  • plant healthy churches throughout Western Australia;
  • Bring people to the lord and then nurture and disciple new believers in their faith
  • Provide relevant ministries for adults, youth, and children of the Landsdale Community Wesleyan Church.
  • Assist in developing ministries and opportunities for church growth throughout the Southern District of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Australia.

Our Goal for the next 6 months is to raise:

  • 200 new prayer partners
  • $26,000 in one time gifts
  • $25,000 in faith promise

We are so thankful to have such an amazing team of churches, pastors, and prayer partners that we can call family.  We look forward to connecting with you in the next 6 months.   If you are interested in scheduling us to visit your church please call us at 716-498-1388. Or email us at

God bless,

Rev. Chris and Rev. Melissa George and family

Heart of Ministry 2014

PHOTO Heart of MinistryThis year the Wesleyan Women’s Movement is humbly asking the entire Wesleyan Church to give hope through the Heart of Ministry Offering taking place Sunday February 23, 2014. Heart of Ministry 2014 is bringing awareness to and working to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Sierra Leone, West Africa. This initiative is called Good News for Girls.

Click HERE to see the 2-minute promo video and many other free, downloadable resources.

Why care about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)?

Because our brothers and sisters in Sierra Leone care about it and they need our help. FGM and the initiation ceremonies that surround it are physically and spiritually oppressive to millions. The Wesleyan Church in Sierra Leone has identified this issue as one of the greatest injustices facing the people they are reaching with the Gospel. Not content to sit on the sidelines any longer, the Church in Sierra Leone is rising up to answer this injustice with the truth of the Gospel – the truth that God values human life, human dignity, and physical and spiritual wholeness. Your support will help the church in Sierra Leone train leaders to address the injustice of FGM through community conversations in villages across the country. These dialogues will go beyond education to foster unity and communicate Jesus’ love.

How can we do more than just write a check?

My prayer is that we will go beyond financial support by learning, praying, giving and engaging. Go online to discover creative ways to pray, to host an awareness event, and to get involved. How can we help our people be offended, not by the idea of FGM, but by the injustice of it?

Where will our money go?

  • 60% will go to Good News for Girls
  • 20% will go to World Hope International’s new Domestic Trafficking Initiative
  • 20% will go to the Wesleyan Justice Network

All the proceeds of your sacrificial giving go directly to the ministries listed above. You will be able to give online, via text, by phone and by mail.

What resources are available?

Available online, right now, in downloadable format you can find the following:

  • A 3 minute promotional video
  • Logo, bulletin insert, flyer, PowerPoint slides
  • Ideas for prayer and an awareness event
  • A badge to share via social media
  • Resources to learn more about FGM

*These resources can also be sent to you via mail by calling or emailing our office.

As you plan ahead for your church’s or your women’s groups’ worship in February, consider including this opportunity to invest in the national church in Sierra Leone and the lives of girls. Please feel free to choose a date that is best for your church if February 24 cannot work. The Wesleyan Church in Sierra Leone understands that justice must be redeemed if we are going to be the agents of hope we are called to be, and they have invited us to join them. Thank you for prayerfully considering this opportunity.

Justice Conference

The Justice Conference is a two-day annual event that focuses on justice-related issues such as human trafficking, slavery, poverty, HIV/AIDS, and human rights. With a main conference happening in Los Angeles on February 21 and 22, the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg will host a live simulcast event allowing local residents the full experience of The Justice Conference.  Organized by World Relief, the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals, the fourth annual conference is a movement to educate, inspire and connect a generation of men and women around a shared concern for the vulnerable and oppressed. As one of the largest international gatherings on social and biblical justice, more than 12,000 participants will gather in Los Angeles and at other partner sites across the country, to focus on the idea and practice of justice.  Registration Fee for the two days is $29 if registering in January and $34 if registering in February.

The campers enjoyed a week of activities and messages based on popular computer applications, such as Angry Birds-Angry Words, Words With Friends-Words About Friends, Instagram-Your Picture in the World, and EBay- One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. New Pastor for Angola Wesleyan Church

On Sunday, June 23, 2013, the Angola Wesleyan Church congregation voted to call Mike Trippett to serve as its sixth pastor.  Mike is married to Marie Fayette Trippett.  They have a son, Brett (22) and a daughter, Blaire (15).  Mike has served as Pastor of Youth and Young Adults at Gospel Chapel (Wesleyan) in Northampton, PA since 2009.  Mike has been taking courses for ordination through FLAME and has been licensed as a minister by the Penn-Jersey District of The Wesleyan Church since June, 2009.

Rev. Rich Wollan announced his resignation as Pastor of Angola Wesleyan Church in February.  Rich, his wife, Rachel and their family are moving to southern Indiana, where Rich will serve as the Student Services Advisor for Indiana Wesleyan University’s campus in Columbus, Indiana.

Angola Wesleyan Church began as a home Bible Study in 1962 under the leadership of Rev. Richard Kaylor.  In 1963, the church received a gift of a 3-acre plot of land on Herr Road.  This, combined with funds from the 1964 Easter Self-Denial offering from Wesleyan Methodist Churches throughout the nation, enabled the church to build their current building.  They held their first worship service in the building on Easter Sunday, 1965.  On September 2, 2012 Pastor Wollan organized a 50th Anniversary Celebration in which he invited former pastors and parishioners for a day of remembrance and praise for a half century of ministry.

Mike Trippett received the recommendation from the Search Team and the full support of District Superintendent, Joseph Jennings.  After preaching at the church and meeting with the congregation, he received a unanimous vote from the membership.  Mike has accepted the invitation and will begin his ministry at Angola in August.

In Pastor Mike’s written testimony, he recounts the difficulty of a broken home and being raised in foster homes.  In reflection, he continues, “It is so hard to see through all the turmoil and struggle and chaos of a broken life at the time when things are at their worst. We can’t possibly understand how if there is a God, He could allow these things to happen to us. But if we can hold on long enough to feel our way through the darkness and the pain, then we can begin to see God’s true work and plan in our life. It just takes the right person to come alongside with care and compassion to make a difference.  I WANT TO BE THAT PERSON! God has blessed me beyond what I deserve, and I want others to be a part of that blessing, I want to lead the broken into a loving and meaningful relationship with the only one who can truly heal them… Jesus.”

Pastor Mike’s first service at Angola Wesleyan Church will be on August 25.  Please keep the Trippett family, the Angola Wesleyan Church, as well as the Wollan family in your prayers as they make this transition over the next several weeks.
