Ministry In Honduras
The Western New York District has entered a three-year partnership to bring Jesus Film ministry to Honduras. In February 2008 it began when eight persons from WNY district traveled to Honduras with John Connor, International Director of Jesus Film ministry for the Weselyan Church. Pastor Hector Perez, evangelism director for the Wesleyan Church in Colombia, worked with us to train a team of Hondurans, led by Pastor Carlos Medina. Hundreds of people have made decisions for Christ, and there are now five preaching points around San Lorenzo Arriba in the Departamento de Yoro. The team also visited the coastal city of La Ceiba and met Wesleyan pastors there.
Another WNY group will visit Honduras February 12-19, 2009, to work with leaders of new preaching points. We'll be assisting Regional Field Director, Pastor Robert Barrantes from Costa Rica.At one film showing recently, a group of 60 persons in a remote area gathered and stayed on through the film despite heavy rain, and at the end all 60 wanted to make commitments to Christ! At another location, a demon possessed woman was set free. Thanks to individuals and churches of our district, in October, rice, beans and flour were delivered to over 100 families in this area who were cut off from supplies for days because of heavy flooding.
Your prayers are vital to this Great Commission work in the spirit of the Great Commandment.
