Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Open Enrollment September 1-30, 2008):
Our district offers two possibilities for health insurance through Blue Cross/Blue Shield: HMO 203 Plus and HMO 102 Plus. These plans carry the normal copays and out-or pockets. Open the comparison below to review plan options and premium cost:

Independent Health (Open Enrollment January 1-31, 2009):
Our district is able to offer a "High Deductible" planEach (Calendar Year with Open Enrollment January 1-31) thatcarries a much lower monthly premium ($236.80/mth/single and $618.94/mth/family). Health Savings Accounts:
The I Direct "High Deductible" plan is Health Saving Account (HSA) eligible. HSAs function like a checking account and can be used to pay health deductible and other medical expenses with pre-tax dollars. In 2007 an employer and employee may contribute $5,650 to their HSA. Only a few banks across America offer HSAs and one of those is locally owned First Niagara Bank.
