District Project: Shunem House

Our focus this year has been on the Shunem House, where missionaries find a place of rest, be refreshed and encouraged as they return from serving overseas, or as they prepare to depart for their overseas ministry location. Located in Noblesville, IN (near IWU), Shunem House is staffed by resident missionaries Jim and Jeanette Vermilya, who serve with Global Partners as pastors to missionaries. There are several tangible ways we can partner with this ministry, here are some ideas. They welcome:
  • Donations of small toiletry items (soap, toothpaste, shampoo--the typical items one needs to supply any place of overnight hospitality
  • Gift cards for WalMart--to help missionaries buy items they need as they prepare to serve overseas or in Home Ministries
  • Cash donations or gift card for Lowe's to be used in maintenance and upkeep at Shunem House
  • Short term mission teams to help with work projects in the house
